Book Review – The Land of Stories “The Enchantress Returns”

The second book in The Land of Stories series is called ‘The Enchantress Returns’. After reading the first book of this series and not being able to put it down, I was beyond excited when this one came out! The books were new at the time that I was reading them. The downside was that I had to wait months to read the next one!

The Land Of Stories

In this book, the Enchantress – otherwise known as Ezmia – has returned to the Land of Stories and is slowly taking over, using her power to lash out at everything and everyone that displeases her. The twins –  who are now back in their world – have no idea about this until one day, they return from school to find that their mother has disappeared. Worried sick, the twins desperately try to figure out a way to find her. As days pass, Alex finds herself getting more and more distraught. Ever since leaving the Land of Stories, Alex has felt more and more like she doesn’t belong, and now, to make things worse, her mother has mysteriously vanished. The twins are surprised to come home one day to find their friends from the Land of Stories, Xanthous, Sir Lampton and Cinderella’s soldiers guarding their house. They find Mother Goose inside, and she tells them that their mother has been kidnapped by the Enchantress. The soldiers and herself have come to protect them so that the Enchantress does not do the same to them. Completely freaked out, Alex packs a bag and sneaks out of the house unseen, searching for something, anything that will get her into the Land of Stories so she can rescue her mother. The story then launches into an adventurous mission where Alex and Conner must team up with their friends to save their mother and stop the Enchantress from taking over the fairy-tale world!

This book was incredible. I was amazed at how creatively written ‘The Wishing Spell’ was, but this one beat it by far! Filled with adventure, terror and excitement, this book kept me on the edge of my seat! I would definitely recommend it! 🙂
